Questions about ZenGPT
How ZenGPT works, what it costs, what happens to what you tell it, and what it isn't. If your question isn't answered here, email zengptapp [at] gmail.com.
What is ZenGPT?
ZenGPT is an AI personalized guided meditation app for iPhone. You start with a short chat about how you're doing, and ZenGPT personalizes a guided meditation for that moment, around your name, your mood, and the intention you set. The meditations are composed by people working with AI and carefully paced, so nothing is improvised mid-session.
Is ZenGPT related to ChatGPT?
No. ZenGPT is an independent guided meditation app. It is not ChatGPT, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI. It is also unrelated to ZeroGPT and GPTZero, which are AI-text detection tools with similar names. The official website for ZenGPT is www.zengpt.com.
How does the chat work?
The home screen is a conversation, not a menu. You type how you're feeling, tap one of the replies it suggests, or use dictation, and ZenGPT asks a question or two before offering a session to start. You never pick a category or scroll a library.
What moods and emotions does ZenGPT handle?
Whatever you bring. There is no fixed list of moods to choose from: anxious, angry, numb, grieving, restless, overstimulated, lonely, wired, or perfectly fine and wanting to stay that way. You describe the situation in your own words, and the session is personalized around what you said.
How is a ZenGPT meditation personalized?
From the check-in chat, plus how your last session landed and the time of day. ZenGPT uses all of that to make your meditation for the moment: a practice that fits, and a session that speaks to what you told it. More on personalization.
How long are the meditations?
Short enough to fit into an ordinary day. You don't set the length on a slider: ZenGPT suggests one based on what you tell it, and the session card shows it before you start.
Do I need any meditation experience?
No. Every session is guided from start to finish, so you only need to listen and follow along. The practice is chosen to fit what you said in the check-in.
How often can I get a new meditation?
Once a day. Each day's check-in ends in one meditation made for that moment, and you can replay it as often as you like. The next day's check-in starts fresh.
Can I listen with my screen locked?
Yes. Sessions keep playing with your iPhone locked, so you can put the phone down and close your eyes.
What happens to what I tell ZenGPT?
Before anything is shared with an AI service, ZenGPT asks your permission in a screen that names what is sent and who receives it. You can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings, under Privacy, although the check-in and personalized meditations are unavailable while it is off. The Privacy Policy lists every provider.
Is ZenGPT on Android?
Not yet. ZenGPT is currently available on iOS only.
Is ZenGPT available yet?
Yes. ZenGPT is available to download from the App Store for iPhone.
Does ZenGPT cost anything?
ZenGPT is a subscription app: Premium is an auto-renewable subscription. The name, length, and price of a subscription are always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm, and you can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
Is ZenGPT a substitute for therapy or medical care?
No. ZenGPT is meditation and wellness content for general use. It is not medical advice, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency support. If you have a medical or mental-health concern, talk to a qualified professional. If you might harm yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services.
